 Adminisration & outreach coordinator

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging individual to join our staff team in the position of Administration & Outreach Coordinator.  This is a Christian ministry focused position with additional administrative support responsibilities.   Our desire at Penticton First Baptist Church is to honour Jesus Christ as Lord in our fellowship, friendships, worship, and witness. Qualifications

  • Committed disciple of Jesus Christ who is or will become a member of FBC Penticton
  • Has high integrity and ethical conduct – maintain ability to handle confidential information
  • Takes initiative and anticipates need – open to new opportunities and visualize change
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Comfortable with social media and website maintenance
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Publisher, Google Calendar, and Outlook
  • Previous experience and education in Christian ministry and asset
  • Previous office experience is an asset
  • Must submit to a police record check and be eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Office and administration support for pastoral team, church leadership boards, and congregation
  • Participate in weekly worship activities including organizing volunteers and be a part of our welcome team
  • Publication of church information including social media updates, contact lists, weekly church bulletin and church meeting dockets
  • Coordinate room bookings, and administering building usage requests for church and community groups
  • Maintenance of church website, Facebook, YouTube and other social outreach and communication platforms
  • Provide direction for volunteers with supervisory needs
  • Assist in planning and coordinating various ministry and outreach activities, for example: Global 6K walk, life groups, study groups, book club, and others.
  • Additional duties as required

This is a permanent part time position (minimum 16 hours per week/$18-$20 per hour based on experience).
